Christmas is past

E-mail Print PDF

Christmas has come and gone even the season is still with us, it is now the year 2012 and all the resolutions and changes that a new year brings. To reflect on Christmas locally, the season was ushered in with a freak Christmas accident resulting in the death of a local man Michael Keating of Ballycullen. This understandably cast a gloom over the area as Micky was a popular man.

We had looked forward to our choir at the Eve of Christmas mass and we were not disappointed. A huge crowd turned out. The church was beautifully decorated with the Christmas crib to the fore from. The singing of carol was lovely at the masses on both the eve of Christmas and Christmas day. Good news too with the birth of twins to one of the choir leaders. The weather of course was a beautifully mild, such a change from just a year ago. Many parishioners will agree with the tributes paid on his service to the parish by Fr, McGrath, and our parish priest. The tribute was paid by the choir on behalf of us all. As 2012 progresses, we hope to see the choir get both bigger (if that is possible). Good luck to all in 2012.
