Senior Hurling.

We got our South. Tipp. Championship up and running against Ballybacon last Saturday in Moyle Park. Already with a win over Swans to their credit Ballybacon were not going to be a push over. This certainly proved the case as they brought the game to Mullinahone. With this being our first outing the team took time to settle and went on to win the game on a scoreline of 2-15 to 2-09. Well done to everybody involved as they say in sport a win is a win. This weekend sees us in action again against title holders Killenaule

Golf Classic 2008.

This years classic will be held on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th of July. We take this opportunity to thank everybody who have supported us in the past and look forward once again to your support on this occasion. The classic will consist of teams of 3, two to count (incl.Meal ) at a cost of 150euro. Sponsorship of a Tee Box or Green 50 euro. The event is proving to be very popular and you should book your tee off time as soon as possible with Toss Lonergan ,052 53334 or Joe Pollard 087 6639426. With Slievenamon Golf Club hosting the event and Joe Pollard their present club captain a great day is guaranteed. It will be interesting to see if Eoin Kelly and Paul Curran can bring their hurling form onto the Golf course.

Club Scene.

With exams about to finish we can expect a busy schedule of games ahead. Our Senior footballers are to play Killenaule on Wednesday night with our Junior hurlers expected to play on Thursday. A this time of the year it is important that all players stay in touch with their managers to keep up dated on fixtures. Our juveniles continue to progress in their championships and any questions on present training times can be can be answered by Sect. Eddie McCarthy.

Sympathys.

The death occurred recently of County board treasurer Michael Spike Nolan. Spike as he was known to us all was a complete gentleman and a pleasure to work with. Indeed he was a great friend to many of our County players over the years and also to our various club officers. We extend our sympathys to his family ,his club and his many friends.

We extend our sympathys also to Teckie Brett and her family on the death of her father. In recent years he became a very familiar figure in the village with his many visits. Teckie is principle of our local Kilvemnon school and actively promotes games throughout the year.

Our prayers are offered for all the deseased. R.I.P.
