Our senior hurlers have qualified for the south senior hurling championship with a
good win over a very determined Carrick Swan. This year’s championship has proved to be very competitive between all the clubs so it was very important that the players worked hard to get results. This they did on Sunday and in the end were worthy winners. Well done to all involved.
We wish a speedy recovery to Alan Curran who fractured his wrist in the recent Killenaule game.

Ladies Football
Our junior Mullinahone – Slievenamon side has succeeded in getting to the league final after a great win in the replay against Boherlahan. The replay between Mullinahone – Slievenamon and Boherlahan took place in Killenaule last month on the 20th of May.
It was obvious from the start that both teams were hungry for the win and it was going to be a battle of wits to the end. The first goal for the team came when the ball slipped through the Boherlahan goalkeeper’s fingers complements of Rebecca Meagher. Mairead Comerford delivered an excellent goal and the Mullinahone – Slievenamon scores reflected a stronger side at half time. However, the team went back in with the right attitude of its not over until the final whistle blows
The scores at half time were Mullinahone – Slievenamon 2-3, Boherlahan 0-4. The Boherlahan side put up a good fight and came close, keeping the team on their tiptoes. Boherlahan scored three goals in the second half illustrating that they were not going to give up without a fight. Both performed a lively and exciting game for their spectators. Eileen Brennan scored the final sneaky goal for the team.
Fortunately, our team came out on top, with a score of 3-13 to Mullinahone – Slievenamon, to Boherlahan 3-5. The team togged out on the day included: Nicky Higgins, Aimee Maloney, Alison Langton, Joanne Cody, Gillian Collins, Aoife Fogarty, Roisin O Meara, Jenny Meagher (Capt.) Mika Bordoul, Anita Walsh, Eileen Brennan, Mairead Comerford, Aisling O Brien, Gillian Fogarty, Caroline Meagher, Kathleen Lonergan, Patricia Lonergan and Brid Costello.
Congratulations to all the team and the best of luck in the final, which takes place next Sunday and all support would be gratefully appreciated.
