U16 B South Champions

Last Sunday in Cloneen our young hurlers of the future played Carrick Swans to decide who would be champions for 2008. the underfoot conditions made hurling difficult but credit must go to both teams for serving up a good competitive game.

Our lads were quick into their stride putting a goal and a couple of points on the score board in the early stages. Swan battled hard but some great hurling form our midfield ensured a good supply of ball to our forwards. Mullinahone finished strong in the second half and the score of the game came near the end with Michael Dunne passing Willie Croke who laid off the perfect pass for a great team goal.

Great credit is due to Johnny Kennedy, Eddie McCarthy and Ky Vaughan who not only had the team well prepared but have instilled good values into this team as well. It was also a matter of great pride to see the winning Capt. Danny  Croke receive the Thomas Cahill cup from championship sponsor Mullinahone Oil and presented by Martin Cody, Vice-chairman of South Tipp. Board na nOg. A good day for the little village.

The panel was: Ritchie Walsh, Killian Skorka, Danny Croke, George Browning, Diarmuid O Halloran, Gary Cronin, Niall Kennedy, Jack Shelly, Eoin Fennelly, Denis Connolly, Michael Dunne, Cathal Horan, Stephen Quirke, Willie Croke, Luke Mullally, Sean and David Walzer, Jack McCarthy, Ben O Reilly, Shane Power and Conor Vaughan.
