Saturday, April 13, is clean-up Saturday in the village organised by the Mullinahone tidy towns. This is part of the An Taisce Spring clean-up. Volunteers meet in the GAA car park at 10am.

Our senior hurlers had their first championship fixture on Saturday. The result was a one goal loss to neighbours Ballingarry. Absentees and injuries contributed to the narrow defeat. While the defeat wasn’t fatal it does put pressure on to qualify for the divisional semi-finals in the coming games against Davins, Swan and Killenaule.

Represent the Kilkenny Alzheimers society in the Stoneyford 10km challenge by taking a sponsorship card. The run takes place at 12.30pm on Sunday, April 19 in Stoneyford village. Contact Ruth O’Gorman on 0567771230.

As part of the parish cleanup on Saturday next Poulacapple is repeating its drive to clean up the townland. Any one who can spare an hour on Saturday please meet up at the school at 10.30am to help out. Bags and gloves provided. Where Poulacapple leads perhaps other local communities will follow.
