E-mail Print PDF

A sum of €575 was raised and has been lodged to the account of the Heart Foundation. The Foundation would also like to say thank you to the volunteers who manned the collection tables.

Starting School

The three primary schools in the parish opened their doors to 24 new pupils on Mon. Sept 2nd. Nearly all are seasoned school goers by now and even had their pictures in the local paper last weekend. We also wish all the best to the local girls and boys who began their 2nd level schooling recently. The same good wishes go to those who have or will be moving on to 3rd level.

Tidy Towns

In spite of the extensive disruption caused by the installation of water works being carried out in the village over the summer the results of the Tidy Towns competition showed a big improvement in marks over those of 2012. The village scored 268 marks and this was due to the combined hard work of the local tidy towns committee and the people of the village. A similar improvement next year would see Mullinahone moving up much higher towards the top of the list. We hope to publish extracts from the 2013 report when it becomes available.

Well done James

James Maher of Jamestown would like to thank everybody who helped him raise €1200 for Barnardos. James completed a 67km. triathlon on August 17th. Well done James.
