Christmas Preparations

E-mail Print PDF

Christmas got under way in Mullinahone on a high note. On Sunday night we had a wonderful recital of Christmas carols in St. Michael’s Church provided by our local parish choir. The recital was augmented by a selection of Christmas songs sung by the children of our three primary schools. The atmosphere in St. Michaels Church was added to by the Christmas trees and lights in the Church. As the choir sang a special slide show from a computer was to be seen over their heads. All in all, it was a wonderful show. Thanks to our choir, to the school children, their teachers, Fr. McGrath and Neil Thompson who provided the slide show. On second thoughts, maybe Christmas in Mullinahone was launched earlier in the week when a Christmas tree was lighted up in the Square. Well done to all those involved as tree donors, workers and electricians or electricity suppliers. The tree was lit up to the strains of Jingle Bells from John Willie Smyth.
