Mullinahone Ladies Football will be represented this weekend on the Tipp U16 team by Aoibhe O’Shea and Aine Dunne. Mary O’Shea is part of the Tipp management team. Aoibhe is also part of the Tipp minor team. Tipp Intermediates with John Leahy in charge and Lorraine O’Shea aboard travelled to Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim on Sunday, but lost narrowly to the home team 1-08 to 1-05. They are, however, qualified for the League quarter final. Alice Browning and Nicola O’Dwyer have been selected on the county U14 panel. This team have already played games against Limerick and Clare in the first rounds of the championship. We wish them well in their remaining rounds. This means that Mullinahone have representatives on every county panel for the first time ever.

Thank You

The Ladies Club wishes to thank all who helped or attended the recent Daffodil Day Coffee morning. Thanks also to everyone in Mullinahone Co-Op for their contributions. To date €915 has been raised. New members are always welcome to the club who meet once a month.

Tidy Towns

Mullinahone Tidy Towns would like to thank Mullinahone Bridge Club who donated Funds from a recent charity night. Their continued support is much appreciated. The Parish Clean-up will take place on Good Friday, April 18th at 10am. Meeting of volunteers and helpers will take place in the GAA carpark. “Many hands make light work, so please come along and support the community. Remember Mullinahone says NO to litter.

County Council

In reply to a query, the first Tipp SR County Council was elected in April 1899. In every subsequent election, up to 1928, a Mullinahone candidate was elected. From then, until 1999 no Mullinahone person from any party was elected and the parish paid the penalty over those 71 years without representation. In 1999, Eddie O’Meara, Ballydonnell was elected as an Independent Councillor. The coming election will be for a County Council to represent all of Tipperary. We’ll need a strong voice to represent us if we are not to lose our influence in a much bigger pond.

GAA Membership

All players and supporters are reminded that membership of the club is now due and should be paid up immediately.
