This will be followed by a lecture on Michael Kavanagh, the first biographer of Charles Kickham by Professor Pádraig Ó Macháin of N.U.I. Cork.

The lecturer this time is Dr. John Flood who lectures in The Netherlands. Sunday brings the Anniversary Mass and the laying of wreaths and oration at Kickhams grave by well- known author Jim Maher. The weekend concludes with the poetry reading in Killaghy Castle with the guest poet, the well- known Michael Coady of Carrick-On-Suir.
Our Senior hurlers have to go through the back door if they wish to reach this year’s South Tipp Senior Hurling final. Last week, in a fine game, they lost out to Killenaule by six points 3-19 to 2-16 in the semi-final. Although much under strength, our lads played well with good displays from a number of the younger players. However, all is not lost as we now have another chance to reach the final when we face Ballingarry in another semi-final. It is hoped that some of our injured contingent will be back in action for this game and that some of our more experienced players will approach top form.
Anniversary Masses next weekend Saturday 1st August at 8pm Tom O’Keeffe, Mullinoly, Sunday 2nd August at 9.30am, Denis and Ciss O’Brien , Kylotlea and Mikey Tobin, do. Sunday 2nd August at 11.30am, Tess McNamara, Mullinoly. Congrats to John O’Sullivan, Killaghy on his recent marriage to Deirdre Cleary of Fethard. There are still seats available on the bus going to Knock on Sunday next, 2nd August. For further info please contact Joe O’Gorman.
