Mullinahone F.C.

Having already qualified for the division 3 shield final ,it was back to league action last weekend for Mullinahone FC. They secured all three points with an emphatic 3-0 away win against Tipperary Town. Micheal Cahill has made a comeback in goal in recent weeks and gave another commanding display between the posts.

The goals came from Wayne Laslett, Jamie McGrath and Michael Cooper. Earlier in the week the club switched on their brand new flood lights, another indication of the progress made by Mullinahone FC since its revival.

Friends of Calcutta

Friends of Calcutta held a bona fide clothes collection in the church carpark in Mullinahone on Thursday last. There was much to admire about the collection apart from the purpose. The gentleman who was collecting stayed with the collecting van and made an effort to meet all who were donating. He also gave out leaflets explaining the work of the “Friends of Calcutta in that city.

The work of the group can be seen on their website This is the third time that the group has visited Mullinahone, but they wil be returning. I’m sure that they will give us plenty of advance notice.

Our Intermediate footballers were knocked out of the County semi-final by Upperchurch in Dr. Morris Park under lights. Thanks to those who traveledin support. Our junior hurlers have still to play their South Tipp junior hurling B final against St. Marys. Perhaps the coming weekend. Our U21 hurlers still await the call to championship action. It’s a good thing that many of them have been involved with the junior B’s.
