A quiz to raise funds for the GAA Players Injury Fund wil be held in T J Macs on Fri.Mar.28th @ 9.30pm. Entry fee for a team of 4 will be E20.An enjoyable night is promised and all players are requested to field teams.

Under 21 Football

Our U21 footballers are out of the championship having gone down to Cahir on their second game. One good thing to emerge from the game was the fine display of Eoin Fennelly who was back in action following a recent injury.

Ladies Football

Our Ladies U16 team was in action in Mullinahone on Sun. morning. The team was unable to field at full strength due to defections and as a result went down to Lattin –Cullen. It is hoped that the team will be stronger the next day and will produce a better result.

Parish Newsletter

Now that Lent is here, we will have Lenten devotions each Sunday evening at 7pm in St. Michael’s Church consisting of Stations of the Cross and Benediction. These devotions will continue for the duration of Lent. Condolences to the extended Crotty family, The Square on the death of Tom Crotty at the age of 84.

Tom had been unwell for quite some time. Aniversary masses next weekend. Sat. Mar. 15th 8pm.aniversary Chrissie and Geoffrey Croke Newlands, Sun. Mar.16th 9.30am anniversary Buddie Hawe Ballyduggan. Sun. March 16th at 11.30am anniversary Ann Lonergan, Killaghy. May they rest in peace. Sincere thanks to all those who used the weekly envelopes last weekend. Please continue to do so every week.

Local Lotto

The last local lotto jackpot draw took place on Monday March 3rd. The numbers drawn were 6,7,12 and 18. There was no jackpot winner, but congrats to Fran Walsh who won the match 3 prize of €150. Next draw will take place on Tuesday March 18th when the jackpot could be worth €3,250.

Community Council Draw

The results of the February Community Council monthly draw were: €150 John O’Shea, Kilvemnon, €70 Bridget Costello, Poulacapple, €25 Will/Harry Vaughan, Rocks Road, €25 Phyllis Costello, Cloneen, €20 Billy Callanan, Clonmel.

Daffodil Day

A coffee morning will take place in the Knocknagow Community Centre on Friday March 28th from 10am until 12 noon. All are welcome.


The early days of March seem to have brought a slight pick up in the local weather. In February, 153.2mm of rain fell on 25 of the 28 days. This was almost a record for February rainfall locally.
