Hurlers Advance

Just a week after defeating  favourites Killenaule in the South Tipp Senior Hurling final to win the parishes 12th divisional title, Mullinahone had to face the same opposition in the County Senior hurling championship. This game took place because of a major flaw in the structure of the county championship and the refusal of the County CCC to rectify the error. Many felt that Killenaule would take the gloss off Mullinahone’s South win by knocking them out of the county championship.  However, in Clonmel last Sunday, Mullinahone rose to the challenge and in the end saw off Killenaule by 8 points.  Next weekend they now take on Kildangan from North Tipperary in a bid to reach the County semi-final.  Last Sunday was probably Mullinahone’s best display of the year so far and followers have a right to be hopeful of further progress with our U21 hurlers and Intermediate footballers waiting to become involved in championship action.  Last Sunday’s team was probably as strong as Mullinahone could field.
